Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency demilune console tables are semi-circular tables designed to fit flush against a wall, produced during the British Regency period (circa 18111830). They typically feature classical proportions, rich mahogany construction, carved details such as rope-twist edging or rosettes, and tapered or turned legs.

Furniture of the Regency period was predominantly constructed from solid mahogany and flame mahogany veneers. Joints were typically hand-cut dovetails or mortise-and-tenon joints, often complemented by hand-carved decorative mouldings.

Authentic Regency furniture shows evidence of period hand craftsmanship, including hand-sawn timber marks, natural patination on untamed undersides, and classical motif carving such as rope-twist borders, acanthus leaves, or floral rosettes. Timber from this period also exhibits age-appropriate shrinkage and rich depth of colour.

A pair of demilune console tables can be positioned symmetrically on either side of a doorway, fireplace, or feature wall to create formal balance. Alternatively, placing them side-by-side or flanking a main hallway entryway provides both architectural structure and surface area for lamps and art objects.

Maintain mahogany antiques by dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth and applying high-grade beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve the timber glaze. Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent drying, cracking, and timber fading.
