A Good George III Cast Brass Door Stop in the Form of a Foxes Head

Description

A good and solid cast brass door stop (or Porter) in the form of a Foxes head. Supported on a cast-iron semi circular weighted base.

The vertical handle is fashioned into a riding crop with a ‘whip’ end terminating in a heart. Indecipherable impressed makers-mark to back of base (see photo).

Height: 46 cm. Weight: 4 kgs.

Date: c.1800-1810.
