Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The panels to the front of the screen are beautifully painted with girls in period clothes in country scenes, the reverse panels painted with boats and wild flowers. It stands around 3ft tall, the four folding panels fold away completely, so when not required it can be neatly tucked away. It stands on brass and ceramic casters for ease of movement. A beautiful and unusual piece that could be used as a fire screen or simply as decoration in a child’s bedroom or hall.
