Huge and Extremely Rare Ecclesiastical Oak Carving of an Angel. Circa 1700s (possibly earlier 17th Century Flemish - see provenance). Of significant proportions (1m high approx).
Elaborately carved angel with beautiful facial features and out-stretched wings. Face, hair, hands, robe, and gothic features, all superbly detailed, with articulated folds of drapery.
Provenance: Arthur A Seager, 16th and 17th Century Furniture & Works of Art.
Condition: Superb condition with aged oak patina. Right arm missing, and some minor old treated woodworm to base, commensurate with age (shown in photos).
