Mid Century 0.40 Carat Old Cut Diamond & Sapphire Dress Ring, Circa 1955

Description

An exceptionally pretty and unique ring. At the heart of the ring is an internally clean and bright old mine cut diamond which displays a soft, lemony glow. The stone is rubover set within a wonderfully ornate and detailed surround, featuring twelve rose cut diamonds around the angular venting, and calibré cut sapphires capping the ends. On a slender 18k white gold band.

Cut:? The centre diamond is an old mine cut, with rose cut diamonds in the surround. The sapphires are calibré cuts.

Colour:? The centre is light yellow. The smaller diamonds are G to H.

Clarity:? The centres diamond is VS2. The smaller diamonds are SI.

Carat:? The diamond in the centre is approximately 0.40 carat, with a further approximate 0.06 carat of diamonds in the surround. The total sapphire weight is approximately 0.18 carat.

Circa:? 1955.

Size:? Q 1/2 (UK) or 8 1/4 (US). Free sizing available.

Measurements:? The head of the ring is 16.5mm long and 7.6mm at the widest point. Sits 3.5mm from the finger.

Weight:? 2.60 grams.

Metal:? 18k white gold. French hallmarks.
