Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The cube shaped ‘box’ edged with a raised mahogany border on all sides, is supported on an integral base with moulded upper frieze and tapered reeded legs ending on pad feet with original brass castors.
The inlaid lid lifts to reveal nine mahogany lined bottle sections inside. Two of the outer surfaces are inlaid with oval ‘Bats-wing’ decoration. With two brass drop handles to each side.
