Mid Century 2.52 Carat Ceylon Yellow Sapphire Solitaire Ring, Circa 1950

Description

A vintage yellow sapphire ring of real quality and style. The uniquely cut sapphire in the centre – certified as natural, heated, and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – is a long decagon and displays a vibrant golden yellow. The stone sits nice and low to the finger and is flanked by flamboyant platinum shoulders set with eight (four each side) eight-cut diamonds, leading to a slender 18k yellow gold shank. A wonderfully individual ring.

Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.

Cut:? Fancy step-cut sapphire and eight-cut diamonds.

Colour:? The diamonds are F to G.

Clarity:? The sapphire is eye clean. The diamonds are VS1 to VS2.

Carat:? The sapphire is a known 2.52 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.09 carat.

Circa:? 1950.

Size:? S (UK) or 9 1/8 (US). Free sizing available.

Measurements:? The sapphire is 10.2 x 8.2mm and sits 5.4mm from the finger.

Weight:? 4.35 grams.

Metal:? 18k yellow gold. The shoulders are platinum. Tested with a Niton DXL Precious Metal Analyzer.
