Description

Very smart French Louis XVI style marble top tulipwood vitrine or display cabinet by Maison Gouffe of Paris c.1930. Single door cabinet with curving glazed sides and original marble top. Fitted inside with two glass shelves, mirror back panel and floor. Internal depth 12". Inlaid marquetry frieze around the top of the cabinet and extensive Classical style brass mounts and mouldings. Brass garland cartouche to the door with a contrasting panel of exotic timber within. Inlaid flutes to the corners, shaped glass panels with a bevelled edge on the door. Raised on shaped legs with further brass mounts to the front feet. Original maker's label inside the door. Some minor wear to the finish, generally very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
