Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian carriage foot warmers were portable accessories designed to provide heat to passengers during cold journeys by horse-drawn coach or early railway. They typically featured an internal compartment for hot bricks or metal containers, topped with an upholstered surface to rest the feet.

These pieces were commonly constructed from timber or metal frames, often fitted with metal carrying handles and internal heat reservoirs. The upper surface was frequently covered in woven wool carpet, tapestry, or leather secured with upholstery studs for added insulation.

Authentic period foot warmers often feature internal metal lining, metal carry handles, and period-appropriate joinery. Look for signs of historic thermal exposure inside the cavity, hand-cut upholstery studs, and authentic age wear on the turned wood feet or fabric top.

Compact historical pieces work exceptionally well as decorative accent objects placed beside a fireplace, beneath a console table, or on a deep window sill. Their rich textile patterns add texture and historical character when layered into traditional or bohemian interior schemes.

Preserve the antique fabric by vacuuming gently using a soft brush attachment and keeping the item away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading. The wooden base can be conditioned with natural beeswax polish while avoiding wet cleaning agents on historic wool upholstery.
