Antique French Silver Etui Parcel Gilt Fine Engravings & Engine Turning - 19th C.

£250    $336    €294
We are delighted to offer this exquisite solid silver gilt étui made in France during the late 19th c.

This étui (needle case) in spite its small size presents wonderful and impressive quality on all fronts.

The entirety is parcel-gilt (areas of silver and gilt) and has been meticulously designed in a way that the gold highlights the acanthus scrolled motifs whilst the engine-turned background remains silver.

Pulling on both ends reveals the inner compartment, once again made with a high degree of care where the ends join perfectly and have a flush fit.

Overall, a splendid and exemplary piece demonstrating superb quality regardless of the object''s size/utility - a true testament to the opulence and craftsmanship of the era. Perfect for the uncompromising collector or as an exquisite gift for someone special.

This piece is marked with French marks on the inner compartment under the lid.
