A Rare Chester Silver Admirals Cap Pin Cushion

1900 - 1920
Description

A wonderful and rare pin cushion, assayed at the collectable Chester office. This excellent example is formed in the shape of a Royal Navy Admirals cap. The original blue silk pin cushion forms the top of the cap, with the silver forming the sides and the peak. The decoration to the silver is delightful and features trails of acorns and oak leaves, a crest and double row of laurel leaves. A rare piece, making a great addition to any collection. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Very good, with no splits to the silver. There are a couple of very small blemishes to the silver around the edge of the cushion. The fabric to the cushion and base are original and therefore both show wear and tear commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable.

Maker :- S Blanckensee & Sons.

Date :- Chester 1910.
