Description

This wonderful eight piece communion set is made of silver plate by the highly respected maker Elkington and Mason and dates to 1846. All pieces bear the engraving for 'Westminster Presbyterian Church 1846'. The set comprises of two statuesque wine jugs with fluted bodies, four large gilded wine goblets and two wafer plates. Of exceptional design and quality.

The condition is very good overall with no dents, splits or plate loss. A couple of minor age related marks, mentioned for clarity and faint scratching to the plates. One wine jug has a solder strengthener to the rim underneath the base, but this does not detract from the piece.

Wine Jug - height approx 36cm. Span approx 21cm. Base Diameter approx 14cm. Weight approx 1.3kg.

Wine Goblet - height approx 23cm. Base diameter approx 10cm. Weight approx 392g.

Plate - diameter approx 23.5cm. Weight approx 443g.
