This is a beautiful example of a large 18ct gold plated Victorian French alarm repeating carriage clock dated to around 1880.It has a stunning 18ct gold plated case with a shaped fold down handle which is in mint condition having just undergone full restoration and replating. This is NOT a polished and lacquered brass case and being 18ct gold plated it will not tarnish or deteriorate, only a light dusting with a cloth is required.The white enamel dial is quite stunning and in perfect condition with no cracks or chips, it has peacock blue steel hands which compliments the gold plating beautifully. All of the beveled edge glass panels are original and in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The movement is of an exceptional high quality and has its original platform escapement, it runs for a full 8 days and keeps excellent time.
