Antique oak cabriole leg dresser base

This Antique oak cabriole leg dresser base was made circa 1785.

The dresser base is fitted 3 drawers, and the brass plate swing handles and escutcheons.

The drawers with the fruitwood banding around the edges.

The Georgian dresser stands on the 3 cabriole front legs, having the desirable feature of a central cabriole leg and then one to each corner. There are shaped legs to each rear corner.

It would have been made in the country workshop of a large country estate using timber gleaned from the estate from a downed tree while also using the fruitwood for the cross banding from the estate.
