Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The base is made from a good heavy crystal beautifully cut in the highly sought-after hobnail cut. The lid is made from English sterling silver, hallmarked for Birmingham 1904, Edwardian in era. The makers initials HM are also present for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.
Once removed, the interior of the lid reveals an opulent gilded finish.
Excellent condition, measuring 3 1/2" tall with a lid diameter measuring 3 1/4".
