Robert Belcher Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
These highly decorative pieces would have been made to special order by a traditional bookbinder. They are made from wood in the form of antique books each covered in different coloured tan hides and hand finished with heated bronze patterned wheels and hand tools to produce each book design and title in plain and gilt tooling.

These decorative bookends are English and date to circa 1920. They would be ideal for a desktop or shelf display and would look perfect with a small collection of antique books. They are in good original condition with some age related marks to the leather.
Sizes of each book end;
Height 18.5cm x width 12.5cm including the brass plates x depth 12cm
