This is a Georgian, English, balustroid wine glass dating from the first half of the 18th century, c1740.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to both the rim of the bowl and to the rim of the foot commensurate with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
The glass has a bell-shaped bowl measuring 6.2 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is plain and sits on an inverted baluster stem and a conical, folded foot which measures 7 cm (2.8 inches) in diameter. The glass is 15.6 cm (6.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There are some white inclusions (clinker) in the metal of the foot and an unburst bubble in the fold of the foot, all dating from manufacture.
English lead glass weighing in at 145 g. (~ 5 oz.).
