Unusual Edwardian Royal Worcester Pedestal Sweetmeat Dish Dog Heads Stem

A very striking and rare Royal Worcester porcelain pedestal bonbon dish with a generous, bulbous bottomed bowl with moulded acanthus leaves running around the underside and egded in gilt. The stepped, domed foot with beaded band and raised fluted detail to the foot and bottom of the stem which rises up to an unusual knop formed of three dog''s heads, retriever types, each within its own circular mount, very well modelled and gilded. The stem and foot are in an olive green enamel, reserving the white beaded border, and the raised details picked out in gilt. The bowl has simple gilt friezes to either side of the gilded rim. The inside is superbly painted in bright enamels with three detailed arrangements of garden flowers, with a fourth set into the well in the centre. The outside has three other beautiful floral arrangements painted en camaieu in a violet-puce enamel.
