A Porcelain Panels Striking Carriage Clock

Description

A beautiful French brass cased striking carriage clock. Porcelain, Sevres style panels depicting country scenes to the dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The two side panels have a lady and gentleman. The case has fine, all over engraved detailing. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. The original lever escapement visible through the beveled top glass. Numbered 3318. Circa 1885.
