An exceptional 19th century (circa 1835) Gothic revival oak library armchair of superior design, generous proportions and wonderful original patina finished in a deep red faux leather.This superb library armchair is exceptional in all aspects: design, proportions, choice of timber, condition, original patina, comfort�a very good example of an English library armchair.The armchair consists of a shaped top rail with central recessed carved quatrefoil with carved recessed panels to either side.This leads down to superbly shaped arms with upholstered armrests, the finely carved foliate arm supports with open Gothic arched panels and pierced design, the back, seat and rear upholstered in a deep red faux leather.
