French Directoire Period Marble & Ormolu Portico Clock 1795-1799
Very nice French Portico clock from the directoire period of 1795-1799
The clock case is made of white marble and furnished with ormolu fittings.
The convex enamel dial has blued steel hands and is set in a ormolu roundel with underneath an ormolu freeze of
curtains, mythological beast, a face and floral ornaments.
The 8 day movement with a silk suspended sunburst pendulum strikes the half and full hours on a silvered bell.
The clock is in perfect working order.
Minute repair to the corner on the left side top
