An absolutely beautiful antique sapphire and diamond ring. The sapphire in the centre - certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) displays a subtle colour change: deep, inky blue in daylight, and rich, regal purple in incandescent light. The stone, set with 18k yellow gold claws, is presented in a extremely pretty platinum mount: each of the ''petals'' around the sapphire is set with three eight cut diamonds (so a total of 36 diamonds all together), with ornate detailing in the gallery. On a slender platinum shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating the sapphire shows no evidence of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
