Graham Price Antiques Ltd. has dated this piece to the 1850s.
The date it was made is carved into the back panel.
A country house beechwooschopping board dated 1852 on the back rail. Crude dovetails fix the sides to the back panel with the aid of an ancient nail.

Lots of wear and marks from years of use, and some historic woodworm.
As chopping boards go, this one is a bit special. A great display or presentation piece.
