Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Lily vases were prominent decorative vessels during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, produced by renowned glassworks such as James Powell & Sons (Whitefriars) and Nazeing. Designed with tall stems and flared rims resembling lily blooms, these pieces reflected the eras growing appreciation for naturalistic forms and Art Nouveau influences.

These vases were hand-blown from high-quality crystal glass. Artisans incorporated decorative white glass canes using pulled-feather or combed techniques, along with hand-applied glass trailing around the rim to create distinct coloured edges.

Authentic period pieces typically feature a hand-ground or polished pontil mark on the base, minor organic variations in the pulled-feather work, and characteristic tool marks along the crimped rim indicative of hand craftsmanship rather than modern machine production.

Place the vase as a singular focal point on a mantelpiece, console table, or sideboard where natural light can pass through the glass. It functions effectively either empty as a sculptural object or holding single long-stemmed botanical cuttings.

Wash the glass by hand using lukewarm water and a mild liquid detergent, avoiding abrasive sponges or sudden temperature changes that could cause thermal shock. Dry thoroughly with a soft microfibre cloth to prevent water spots and preserve the glass surface.
