Meissen porcelain originated in Saxony during the early eighteenth century as the first hard-paste porcelain manufactured in Europe. Hand-painted botanical motifs, known historically as Deutsche Blumen, became a signature decorative style of the factory.

These pieces are crafted from hard-paste porcelain, composed primarily of kaolin and petuntse, fired at high temperatures. Detailed floral decoration is applied by hand using mineral-based enamel pigments prior to glaze setting and gilding.
