Victorian rosewood Wellington chest

This Victorian rosewood Wellington chest was made circa 1870.

Having the striking top and sides in Goncalo Alves and the fronts with fine rosewood.

It is fitted 6 graduated drawers with the locking bar that opens on hinges.

The locking bar enables you to lock all the drawers using just the one key.

All the drawers have the finely turned knob handles.

A Wellington chest gets its name from Duke of Wellington the British war hero of the Battle of Waterloo and other battles.

These were the original filing cabinets for the elegant home. They can be used for a multiple of uses and become a piece of furniture that is invaluable to the family home.
