This life sized and well carved Raj period Indian bust depicts a female goddess or deity. It is hand carved from a single large piece of stone which is naturally greenish in colour with small white fragments which are most likely pieces of fossilised shell.The head and shoulders bust shows a distinctive female wearing a tunic with an ornate neck and matching headdress. She has a flower mounted behind one ear and is carrying a decorative bowl on her head.
