Description

Antique Waltham Riverside fob watch, c1893.

The watch has a good quality stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 5,525,815 which dates it back to around 1893. The movement is protected by an inner cover which has a little scratching where it has been opened in the past, but not too detrimental.

The watch measures 41mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated, it has the odd small mark but overall is in good condition. The front has a small central lens surrounded by enamel filled Roman numerals.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.

Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition.

The dial is signed, ‘Made for H F Seale’, a manufacturer of pocket watches in Cape Town, South Africa.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
