This rare Grainger’s Worcester porcelain cider or porter mug, made in the early 19th century, showcases fine English craftsmanship. The mug features a hand-painted rural landscape with a cottage, water, and a distant castle. The reverse side bears a gilded monogram, likely the letter "A," surrounded by scrolling patterns and grapevine motifs. The handle is decorated with gilding, and the rims are elegantly accented in gold.

Grainger’s Worcester, founded in 1801 by Thomas Grainger and John Wood in Worcester, England, was renowned for its finely detailed porcelain. Its exceptional translucency, intricate hand-painting, and innovative techniques earned Royal recognition in 1839 with a Royal Warrant from Queen Adelaide. This allowed the company to use the title "Royal Porcelain Works," cementing its prestige among collectors.
