Wmf Art Nouveau Silver Plated Maiden & Dove Table Mirror C.1910

A stunning large silver plated figural dressing table mirror from WMF of arched form in neoclassical style. Stood to one side is the figure of a maiden, bare foot in flowing dress with her hair up in classic art nouveau style. She holds a bouquet of flowers in her left hand and is beckoning to a resting dove with her right hand. The dove is positioned on top of two crossed flaming torches against a lower backdrop of floral and foliate garlands. Shaped bevelled glass plate and the original back with a fine quality brass screw mechanism to open and close the spiral twisted easel strut or to adjust the lean angle. Impressed marks to the side with the factory initials and I/O to denote the silver plated finish, and model number 11508 to the back. c.1910.

Laid flat, it measures 40cm (15 3/4") high and 25.5cm (10") wide. Stood up with the easel extended it stands approx. 37.5cm (14 3/4") tall and 18cm (7") front to back.

In excellent condition with no damage, losses or repairs and minor handling wear.
