Pair of Tortoiseshell and Silver Scent Bottles

1900 - 1920
Description

A superb matching pair of cut glass scent bottles with tortoiseshell and silver mounted tops. The bottles are excellent quality with a hobnail design and a star-cut base. Both bottles have silver collars and hinged silver tops with inset tortoiseshell panels. In the centre of the tortoiseshell is a fine inlaid silver wreath with a delicate bow at the bottom. One bottle comes with its original ground glass stopper and one is missing.

The silver collars and tops are both hallmarked for London, 1917 and the maker Synyer & Beddoes.

They are in good condition for their age. There are some signs of age and use, some small dinks and minor marks but nothing detrimental and there are no cracks or major damages to the glass. Both bottles display beautifully.
