An extremely good quality French polished black slate mantel clock with scrolling bronze gilt rococo style mounts and moulds. The case features shell detail, cherub mask, birds and swags stood on bracket feet surmounted with urn with phoenix handles to the top.
The clock has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals and a French eight day movement which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell with outside count wheel.
The movement back plate is stamped with the makers name - Japy Freres
The clock movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.
