18th Century Oak And Elm Chest

£475    $602    €571
A lovely small oak and elm mule chest dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. The hinged lid opens to reveal a large storage area and below this is a drawer beautifully cut into the moulding with two brass plate handles. It has a flat top and stands on bracket feet.

It is a good quality piece with hand cut dovetail joints and the wood has a beautiful rich patina.

It is in good original condition throughout and is strong and sturdy. The back is clean and the hinges are strong. There are signs of age and use and some general marks and knocks and minor old shrinkage splits but nothing untoward or detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
