A very unusual English silver plated dish. It is marked with the makers marks of Padley, Parkin & Staniforth who were active between 1855 to 1875 in Sheffield producing silver and plated wares including specialist ecclesiastical pieces. It has been superbly made being in the form of a pair of cupped hands and the handle cast in the form of a grape vine, I suspect it was a church collection plate. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs, a tiny patch of wear to the centre - see final photo. It measure approx. 8.5 inches (21.6cm) long by 5.5 inches (13.8cm) wide by 3.25 inches (8.2cm) to the top of the handle and weigh 350 grams. A super quality unusual piece.
