Here we have a wonderful vintage set of Mah Jong / Mahjong which is in a superb rare carrying case which has been carved with lovely Chinese and decorative scenes and has a superb carved Foo Dogs Handle. There are 148 tiles.
One the front is dropped down this allows the five trays to be pulled out. This is a very rare example and is superbly detailed not only in the carrying box but the Mah Jong pieces also. The set is antique dating to circa 1910.
We have photographed the pieces in detail to allow you to view for yourself. There are a total of 148 tiles. All tiles have been photographed. The tiles are superb quality being 50 / 50 bamboo to bovine with dovetail joints.
There are also 122 bovine counting sticks, four small dice in a little lidded box.
DIMENSIONS:
The carrying case measures approximately:
9 1/2 inches / 24 cm wide x 6 3/4 inches / 17 cm deep x 9 1/2 inches / 24 cm high.
The tiles are approximately:
3.1 cm long x 2.2 cm deep x 1.5 cm high.
CONDITION:
The set is in lovely condition and is superbly detailed as can be seem from the photographs. The carrying case is also in nice condition, just minor knocks, marks and odd shrinkage lines commensurate with age and careful use. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition, as what you view is exactly what you will receive.
