Amazing quality mid 19th century African knife,c1850. Undoubtedly a prestige / ceremonial piece it is constructed from the finest materials and with great craftsmanship. The light brown horn handle leads to a silver metal ring (probably silver but unmarked). The blade is decorated along its full length on both sides. Overall condition is good and the metal and handle have taken on great colour/patina following many years of use.
