An Extremely Rare Mid 18th Century Oak Drum Top Occasional Lamp Table, Having Superbly Figured Dish Moulded Circular Top, Over Octagonal Frieze With Four Small Drawers Retaining Original Brass Handles, Raised On Elegant Turned Central Column And Tripod Legs.
This sweet little mid 18th century occasional table is really quite charming indeed. Its of most unusual form, not a design we have seen before and we think it was probably a specific commission.
It is also rather charming to find it constructed from oak rather than the more standard mahogany. It has retained an excellent untouched colour and patina which adds even further to the overall appeal.
From a practicality perspective it is very, very functional. A great size to stand in a whole host of places around the home, with a top that is big enough to use. The combination of country timbers and relatively formal styling also ensure that it would fit in with just about any other furniture already present.
As with all items we offer for sale this Georgian Occasional Table has been inspected and attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled, specialist trained, antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish before being offered for sale to ensure that it is in excellent condition and ready for immediate placement within the home.
