Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco coffee tables from the 1930s typically feature geometric or stylised organic forms, low proportions, and sweeping or slender legs. Often crafted using decorative wood veneers, these pieces served as functional lower-profile surfaces in modernising living rooms.

Art Deco furniture makers frequently used figured walnut veneers, such as quartered or book-matched cuts, laid over solid timber frames. Multi-tiered designs provided additional storage while highlighting intricate grain patterns and crossbanded edges.

Authentic 1930s Art Deco pieces often exhibit symmetrical book-matched walnut veneers, original shellac or lacquer finishes, and hand-fitted joints beneath the surface. Look for period-appropriate construction, consistent natural patination, and subtle wear on lower tiers and legs.

Position the table centrally in front of a sofa or between armchair pairings, keeping decorative objects on the top tier minimalist to showcase the wood grain. The lower shelf can be used to store books or art catalogues, balancing utility with design clarity.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish once or twice a year to nourish the wood finish. Keep the table away from direct sunlight, radiators, and standing liquids to prevent veneer lifting or discolouration.
