1939 Omega 'Copper' Dial Wristwatch

1920 - 1940
Description

A 1939 Omega, in a stainless steel case. This particular example is a real treasure, featuring an exceptionally rare copper-toned dial, setting it apart from more common variants of the era. The dial retains its original lume-filled Arabic numerals. Encircling the dial is a crisp outer minute track with 5-minute markers. Adding depth to the dial is the recessed subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o'clock in a contrasting 'sunburst' finish The subdial is detailed with Arabic numerals placed at the quarters. The blued steel 'pencil' hands, featuring a central lume fill, perfectly complement the dial's copper tone. Dials of this unique colour and condition are incredibly scarce, making this watch a true gem for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

A stainless steel case with integral bezel, stepped above the main case body. Shaped lugs extend from the case, each with a light champfer. An early screw down case back with the script 'Waterproof, Modele Depose, Omega Swiss'. Case reference 127.

The watch is powered by a 15 jewel Omega 26.5 SOB manual wind mechanism. The 9.0m serial number dates this watch to circa 1939.

Case width (excluding crown) 32mm

Case height 36mm

Case depth 10mm

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
