Ralph Todd 1856-1932.Like many of his fellow Newlyn artist,Ralph Todd spent time painting in the art colonies in Brittany.It was here that Todd crossed paths with the Newlyn colony founder,Stanhope Forbes , with whom he would later become great friends..In 1883,Todd moved to Newlyn and strive to make a living from his art,producing some charming and memorable works although founding little commercial success.He primarily worked in watercolours but was also very competent in oils.This is a charming example of the artists work. ‘ The Fisherman’s Daughter,Newlyn’ signed watercolour,image size 37x27 cms,framed size 56x45 cms
