Antique Olive Wood Sorrento Pot Pourri Box C.1890

Description

An absolutely stunning box made from exotic cognac coloured Olivewood and beautifully pierced or reticulated to allow the scented flowers within permeate into the room. The wood is then finished with some penwork such as the figural heads that can be found in the centre of the side panels.

The removable lid has had a professional repair which is almost invisible, it can hardly be seen but is mentioned purely for accuracy. The top of the lid has a lovely turned Ivory knob.

Excellent condition, measuring 5 5/8" x 4" x 2 3/4".
