A superb 17th century netherlands landscape in the manner of Nicolaes Berchem 1620 -1683.
The small lanscape depicts a country folk scene, with sherperd and shepherdess gathering their sheep whilst a man sat on a cow plays the flute to signal the dog to round the sheep up.
The oil on canvas is of excellent quality and has been relined at some stage, there are areas of minor damage to the bottom of the original canvas and some paint losses which could easily be restored.
The picture comes in a later modern frame buy would suit a nice ebonised dutch ripple moulded frame.
