Antique Metalware Single 17thc Bronze Mortar Cast With Bird & Key Pattern. English C1660-80.

A very fine example of a mid 17thc English bronze mortar, from an unidentified London foundry....it stands only four inches tall and is decorated with a bird with a key in its beak pattern within a wreath four times....the mortar is in very good condition and has gained a fine natural patination.
