Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the late nineteenth century, this furniture style blends the honest joinery and clean lines of the Arts and Crafts movement with architectural elements inspired by Islamic and North African design, such as horseshoe arches and fretwork.

These pieces are predominantly constructed from solid timber such as oak or mahogany, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints, panelled fall fronts, and solid brass drop handles or ring pulls.

Authentic examples display traditional joinery techniques, natural wood grain finishes without modern polyurethane lacquers, original patinated brass hardware, and hand-carved or fretted Moorish arches.

A slant-front bureau functions as a compact workstation in a study or living area, pairing effectively with contemporary accent lighting, modern ceramics, and tailored leather seating to create a balanced interior contrast.

Maintain the wood finish by dusting regularly with a dry, soft cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish along the grain twice a year, while avoiding direct sunlight and proximity to heat sources.
