A fine and well proportioned antique giltwood overmantel mirror dating from 1870.

Frame decoration it wonderfully crisp and detailed, with a stunning cartouche cresting.

Frame water-gilded to the very highest of standards using 23.5 carat genuine gold leaf.

Original mercury silvered mirror plate with light foxing and the most attractive overall sparkle when caught in the right light.

Original backing board

Sizes 145 cm tall, max width at base 130 cm, main frame width 110 cm.
