Small Antique Sterling Silver Handled Magnifying Glass - 1896

Description

This one would be perfect on the go, small enough to pop it in your bag on the way out ready for use wherever you may be; of course it would just as smart displayed on your desk-top.

The handle is highly decorative and most tactile with it's plethora of repousse or embossed work and a pierced or reticulated panel. There is a cartouche to front and back, the front engraved with a very decorative initial "E". The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, Victorian in era.

The glass itself is new (by Hilkinson), making it a perfectly usable desk accessory with a clear unblemished lens & a good magnification. Excellent condition, measuring 5" in length with the glass having a diameter measuring 2".
