Sterling Silver Cocktail Chain Mail Purse on Chatelaine Hook, Circa 1900

Description

This delightful sterling silver miser's purse dates circa 1900. The silver frame with ring finial halmarked Sterling. The sides fitted with a belcher chain and chatelaine hook. The interior with a single compartments. The bottom with tiny silver ball weights. A really lovely and unusual example.

Hallmarks:

Marked sterling on ring, tested as silver.

Condition:

Very good condition.

Dimensions and weight:

Width: 7cm / 3 inches.

Depth: 7cm / 3inches.

Length including chain: 15cm / 6inches.

Total weight: 52g / 1.8 oz.
