Exceptional Regency Pair of Rosewood and Parcel Gilt Side Cabinets

Description

An Exceptional Regency pair of Rosewood and parcel gilt Side Cabinets; desirable dwarf proportions in well chosen rosewood having a fabulous colour; the well figured rectangular tops having stylish concave corners and finely carved acanthus leaf moulded edges; above a striking pair of panelled doors with slender giltwood mouldings; flanked by concave corners having parcel gilt vertical flutes. The sides having well figured panels with giltwood mouldings. Raised on shallow plinths having acanthus carved mouldings following the form of the cabinet. Both of the interiors having a bank of four rosewood drawers to the right hand side being fully mahogany lined and an adjustable shelf and drawer above to the left side. Excellent rich colour and patina with lovely original water gilding. The undersides fitted with lignum vitae castors raising the plinths very slightly from the ground and for ease of movement.
