A LARGE EXCEPTIONAL 18thC PERIOD DUTCH MARQUETRY INLAID GLAZED DISPLAY CABINET

Brief Description:

This is a truly exceptional example of a Large Original 18th-century Dutch Marquetry Inlaid Glazed Display Cabinet, of generous proportions, with a conforming chest of 3 large serpentine-fronted drawers.

Of a magnificently rich and polished patina, the piece is embellished throughout with outstanding marquetry inlay, displaying Tulips, Birds of prey, Urns and other foliage, all of which are finely inlaid in exotic fruitwoods.

The upper section has a moulded cornice that incorporates a large carved rising crest, this leads down to the pair of large glazed display doors, revealing once opened an original wooden fitted interior that has been beautifully painted in a Farrow & Ball Citrus chalk paint.

(Note: the interior colour can easily be changed to suit one''s taste).

The lower section incorporates a bank of three very large drawers, all of which are of serpentine form, with period brass drop handles and matching central brass escutcheons.

The whole terminates in a pair of huge carved hairy paw feet.
