Louis PASTOUR (1876-1948)
A delightful painting depicting a vase of cyclamens by the French post impressionist artist Louis Pastour. Painted using a heavy impasto, with a rich kaleidoscope of colours, signed and dated 1943.
Pastour belonged to the Provençal School of artists. He studied in Nice and Paris and did not exhibit until he was 45 years of age. His work can be found at musée d''Orsay in Paris, at musée des beaux-arts de Nice and at the National museum of Art of Roumania in Bucarest.
